What does it mean that 43% of those surveyed said they add ice to wine? Moreover, what does it mean that Woodbridge Wine by Mondavi wants to know how common adding ice to wine is among wine drinkers? This latter question is more interesting than the former. Here’s why.

First, the claim that 43% of Americans add ice to wine comes from a survey conducted by OnePoll for Woodbridge Mondavi, a producer of massive amounts of wine that are bottled, boxed, and canned as well as VERY reasonably priced. Out of the box I have to admit a soft spot for Woodbridge due simply to the fact that the brand is the official wine partner to Major League Baseball. Keep in mind, I’d probably have a soft spot for Vladamir Putin if he struck a deal with Major League Baseball to be the official dictator of Major League Baseball.
