By the time President-elect Donald Trump ends his second and final term as president in January 2029, we will have marked 12 years in a row in which the occupant of the White House was a teetotaler. Donald Trump does not drink wine or any other alcohol. Nor does President Biden.
President Trump’s lack of enthusiasm for wine wasn’t the primary reason I did not vote for him. However, it was on the list, even if it was pretty far down.
His Vice President, JD. Vance does drink alcohol. During the campaign, Vance responded to the question, “Why would someone want to have a beer with you this way:
“Well, I guess,…they’d want to have a beer with me because I actually do like to drink beer and, I probably like to drink beer a little bit too much, but that’s OK, I’m sure the media won’t give me too much crap over that.”
While an interesting revelation, it doesn’t tell us much about VP Vance’s views on wine.
