First Dry January & Sober October, Now We Have "Sober Spring"
The same folks that brought us Dry January own the "Sober Spring" Trademark
It is estimated that 55.7 million Americans took part in Dry January this year, according to a poll conducted by Morning Consult. Thirty-nine million of those participants said they completely cut out alcohol during that dry month.
Then there is Sober October. According to the Boca Recovery Institute’s survey, upwards of 25% of Americans (63 million) stated in a survey that they planned to depart from alcohol consumption in October.
But those heading up the Go Sober movement are getting more ambitious. Let me introduce you to Sober Spring.
Sober Spring is the lesser-known initiative concocted and managed by Alcohol Change UK, the same group that coined, trademarked, licenses, and promotes Dry January. Actually, it was well-known author Catherine Gray who apparently came up with the idea of Sober Spring and brought it to Alcohol Change UK to implement. Gray is the author of the exceedingly popular 2017 book “The Unexpected Joy of Being Sober”. Gray followed this up with books touting the unexpected joys of being single and ordinary.
