I've now seen the silliest argument yet made by a state defending its discriminatory wine shipping bans and now you get to see it too.

I just had to share this little nugget.

As some of you may know, the state of North Carolina is being sued because its law prohibits NC consumers from receiving wine shipments from out-of-state retailers, while allowing those same consumers to receive wine shipments from NC retailers.

Currently, the lawsuit sits in the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals where oral arguments will be heard in the coming few week.

What I wanted to share was a particular piece of reasoning that the state of North Carolina offered up in its legal brief attempting to convince the 4th Circuit Court that this law is not discriminatory. What follows is a excerpt from that brief:
